Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY;[1] born March 17, 1988) who is also known as Grimes is a Canadian singer, musician, songwriter, and record producer. She began her career in the early 1990s. has been described as going from "lo-fi R&B" to futuristic dance-pop. She has also incorporated influences from electronic music, hip hop, and rock. The lyrics of her songs often address feminist and science fiction themes. The band has released five albums. Growing up in Vancouver (later making the move from there to Montreal), Grimes began making music for herself in the late 2000s she released two albums: Geidi Primes and Halfaxa from 2010 through Arbutus Records. She subsequently signed with 4AD and rose to prominence after the release of her third album Visions, in 2012. Visions features the singles "Genesis" and "Oblivion" which won them the Juno Award in Canada for Electronic Album of the year. Her fourth studio album Art Angels was released in 2015. The album received high marks by critics and a variety of magazines voted it to be the top album. In 2020, she debuted Miss Anthropocene (her fifth studio album). Grimes, who is also an actor and judge on Alter Ego's music competitions, performed as a vocalist as part of Cyberpunk 2077 which was released in the year 2020. Georges Georges Georges
